Energy Conversion Devices agree supply of UNI-SOLAR laminates with Mercury Solar Systems

14 August 2009

Solar photovoltaic developer Energy Conversion Devices (ECD) has signed a multi-year supply agreement with Mercury Solar Systems for the distribution of their UNI-SOLAR brand products across the US.

ECD has agreed to sell UNI-SOLAR laminates to east coast solar integrating company Mercury as well as provide them with training and aid in Mercury installed photovoltaic systems. Mercury expects to buy 15MW of UNI-SOLAR products under the terms of the agreement.

Jared Haines, president of Mercury Solar Systems, said, ‘We have consistently been attracted to UNI-SOLAR products because of their flexibility, light weight, ease of installation, durability, and real-world performance. They offer the highest kWh per kW installed and are great for new roof installations especially in high wind areas. Our partnership with ECD is just further validation of Mercury’s unwavering commitment to provide our customers with the highest quality products at the most affordable prices.’

Last month, ECD reached a similar agreement with Johns Manville, manufacturer of energy-efficient building products, over the sales of UNI-SOLAR laminates.

Mark Morelli, ECD’s president and CEO, added, ‘This agreement expands the distribution of our UNI-SOLAR brand products in eastern US, a market which we think has a tremendous growth potential. Mercury is an ideal partner given their expansive commercial infrastructure and successful experience in installing our products over the past several years. We look forward to working with them to grow the commercial rooftop solar market on the East Coast.’
