US renewables firms Marina Energy and DCO Energy have signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Nevada energy utility NV Energy for power generated at an 11MW landfill gas-powered project to be located at the Apex Regional Landfill, north of Las Vegas. The site will use gas extracted from a series of wells at the landfill, which will be used in a turbine generator to make renewable electricity.
