NYSE-listed refuse and waste-energy manufacturer Waste Management is to invest in US waste energy company Harvest Power, with the intention to develop next generation organics recycling facilities across North America and Canada. Waste Management, will join the original veteran investor partners Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Munich Venture Partners who have also increased their level of investment in conjunction with Waste Management.

US renewables firms Marina Energy and DCO Energy have signed a 20-year power purchase agreement with Nevada energy utility NV Energy for power generated at an 11MW landfill gas-powered project to be located at the Apex Regional Landfill, north of Las Vegas. The site will use gas extracted from a series of wells at the landfill, which will be used in a turbine generator to make renewable electricity.

British waste treatment and renewable energy company New Earth Group is to raise a minimum of £15m in equity in exchange for a minority stake.
