Scottish Renewables endorses government ‘marine road map’ report

Scottish Renewables, a trade association for the Scottish green power industry, has welcomed the findings of a joint government and industry report outlining development plans for the marine energy industry. According to the association, the report’s recommendations could create 12,500 jobs in the sector by 2020, endorsing calls for increased stimulus funding for the sector, including a repeat of the Wave and Tidal Energy support scheme, which could mean that Scottish wave and tidal generators receive more revenue for the electricity they generate than operators in England or Wales.
